Your MotoGP 2026 journey starts with SportTravel

The 2026 Grand Prix season promises to be a real spectacle – both on and off the track. With major technical changes coming in 2027 and most rider contracts expiring at the end of 2026, this will be a season full of intrigue and opportunity. With 22 Grand Prix weekends scheduled at stunning venues around the globe, there's no better time to experience the action live – and who better to join than SportTravel?

MotoGP title contenders gearing up for a fiery battle
After a dominant 2025 season, one name tops nearly every list of title favourites: Marc Márquez. The factory Ducati rider clinched his seventh MotoGP title – and ninth world title overall – last year. The only one who came close was his younger brother Alex, who shocked many by finishing second in the championship. Although Marc missed the final races of 2025 due to injury, he’s still considered the man to beat in 2026. MM93 is on the hunt for that elusive tenth world title. But will the biggest threat come from his own garage? Pecco Bagnaia had a highly inconsistent and ultimately disappointing 2025. Can he bounce back to the form he showed in 2022 and 2023, when he was the man to beat in MotoGP? Meanwhile, Aprilia continued to gain strength last season, with Marco Bezzecchi taking the spotlight. How will his teammate Jorge Martin return after a year plagued by injuries? At KTM, all eyes are on Pedro Acosta, who is inching closer and closer to his first MotoGP victory.

Change is in the air
Then there’s the big question: where do Honda and Yamaha stand in 2026? Will the Japanese manufacturers finally return to fighting for podiums, or will they need to wait another year? In 2027, the technical regulations will undergo a full overhaul. Engine capacity will be reduced to 850cc, Pirelli will take over as the official tyre supplier, and further restrictions will be imposed on rider aids, electronics and aerodynamics. In short: all manufacturers will be starting almost from scratch. This reset might also come with a major shake-up in the rider market. With most contracts expiring at the end of 2026, we can expect the rumour mill to be in overdrive – possibly from as early as the opening rounds. Speaking of new faces, two rookies will line up on the MotoGP grid in 2026. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu makes the jump from World Superbike, while Diogo Moreira steps up from Moto2. Both the Turkish and Brazilian riders were crowned world champions in their respective classes last year.

Familiar calendar – with a few surprises
Just like last year, the 2026 calendar features 22 Grand Prix weekends. While most venues remain unchanged, the main differences lie in the dates. Some races – including Catalunya, Hungary, and the Czech Republic – have been moved earlier in the season. Meanwhile, events like the British GP, Aragón, and Austria will take place slightly later than in 2025. The biggest calendar update? Brazil is back! The Brazilian Grand Prix replaces Argentina, with racing at the Goiânia circuit scheduled from March 20–22. As always, the legendary TT Assen takes place during the final weekend of June. And after an overseas start, the European leg of the season kicks off at Jerez in late April – a fan-favourite destination for many SportTravel guests.
