A true highlight on any Grand Prix calendar, the legendary Dutch TT at Assen takes place on the final Sunday of June, just as summer begins. Each year, MotoGP returns to the iconic TT Circuit Assen for one of the most atmospheric and historic races of the season. Since the switch to Sunday racing in 2016, the event has sold out time and again.

TT CIRCUIT ASSEN
How to Get to the TT Circuit Assen
The legendary TT Circuit Assen, known as the Cathedral of Speed, is located just south-west of the city of Assen, in the province of Drenthe in the northern Netherlands. Thanks to its central position and excellent infrastructure, the circuit is easy to reach by both car and public transport.
If you are travelling by air, Groningen Airport Eelde is the closest international airport, situated approximately 25 kilometres north of Assen. From here, the circuit can be reached quickly by car or taxi. Larger international hubs such as Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Bremen Airport in Germany are also convenient options, both located around 2 to 2.5 hours away by car.
Arriving by car is straightforward. The circuit lies directly off the A28 motorway, which connects Amersfoort and Groningen. Clear signage directs you towards Assen and the TT Circuit, and during the MotoGP weekend traffic management is well organised to ensure smooth access to the venue.
Assen is also well connected by train, with direct rail links to major Dutch cities. Throughout the MotoGP weekend, additional shuttle services and buses usually operate between Assen railway station and the circuit, making public transport a convenient option for visitors.
Whether you stay in Assen itself or in the surrounding area, travelling to the TT Circuit Assen is simple and well arranged, allowing you to focus fully on enjoying the Dutch TT experience.
